New product - Tassel end striped scarf

Materials always inspire my designs. I love fabrics and trims browsing. I found two lovely items yesterday - soft hand feel cotton linen striped fabric and linen band. I thought the fabric would be good for making scarfs with tassel end for spring. To make tassels, weft yarns have to be removed. Leave the warp yarns at the end and make knots to stop the fabric fading. Antique linen band is for cross stitch embroidery. Therefore, I created a new label for this scarf.

This is my new design for order to make. Dimension: 155cm (L) X 43cm (W). Please email me if you are interested in this item.

Tote bag

My friend's birthday. I was thinking to make something which is practical for her. Finally, I selected this linen polka dots fabric from Laura Ashley to make a tote bag for her. I used domestic sewing machine to make it. All seams are French seams inside. Zig zag stitches finished the bag opening and shoulder straps. To add the identity to the bag, I embroidered the abbreviation of her name on the bag as well.

The label

In the process of developing this label, I recalled a lot of memories from my childhood in Hong Kong. I remember I practiced my English calligraphy by working on so called 'Copy Book' when I was in primary school. At that time, I thought English is so boring..... But now I really appreciate those beautiful A-Z on copy books. So I took the references from the copy book and create the font for the label.
I wrote loads of 'M' and chose the best, traced the letter on a piece of baking paper. Then I placed it on a herringbone tape and embroidered on top of it.
